V Rising Torrent Description:-
V Rising torrent is an action RPG at its core, but with mechanical layers that make it more like a survival sandbox. You play as a vampire, and every vampire trope imaginable is tied into some element of the game. Sunlight sets you on fire, garlic and silver will damage you, and of course you have to drink blood to survive and become stronger.
You spend most of your time hunting down bosses, killing them to steal their powers. If you’re on a PvP server, you’ll also be using these powers against other vampires; vampires never seem to get along, right?
What ties it all together is creature creation. Upgrading your gear requires farming resources, but these must be improved in the player-built castle. Defeating bosses unlocks different workstations that you can build, further expanding your options for what you can do.
This gameplay loop is where V Rising really shines. It’s a familiar formula, a bit like Valheim with vampires, but it stands out thanks to its wonderfully balanced and rewarding progression system. Boss battles feel challenging but fair, and each one is unique enough to make each new encounter fresh and exciting. That’s impressive considering there are 57 of them to hunt down.
Each one drops its own loot, from the aforementioned workshop blueprints, to spells, weapon blueprints, and even new animal forms you can transform into to access different areas. Some rewards are more substantial than others, but everything feels meaningful, and it’s that constant rhythm of dopamine hits that will keep you playing well past your bedtime.
Here’s where you can feel the benefit of V Rising’s journey through Early Access, and the metaphorical feel of its gameplay loop that’s been refined over two years of player feedback. And if you’re still not entirely satisfied, a host of options will let you fine-tune the experience to your liking, including two new difficulty modes for version 1.0: “Relaxed” and “Brutal.”
Dedicated servers:-
V Rising’s biggest weakness is that it doesn’t work all that well on its own. For this review, I had to play solo to see all the new content in a timely manner (something I’ve never done before) and I couldn’t shake the feeling that the world lacks character when you’re alone.
Granted, playing with friends always enhances your experience in the game, but it goes a little too far in the case of V Rising. For example, many of the bosses are on the wrong side of exhausting when dealing with them alone, bombarding you with summoned minions and targeted attacks that leave you praying for a partner to take up some of the heat. And while building and designing your castle is still fun and rewarding on your own, putting in the effort to make it feel that way starts to feel pointless when you don’t have someone to show off to.
Playing solo also makes the game’s lack of narrative even more apparent. Aside from a somewhat vague cinematic at the beginning and a few bits of story you can piece together from NPC dialogue and descriptions of certain bosses, there’s really no story to speak of in V Rising. Not every game needs a story, of course, but even a little bit of worldbuilding—perhaps some notes and diary entries to find during your travels—would have helped give the game a little more character. When your friends are cracking endless vampire jokes in your ear, it’s not something you really notice, but when you’re making repeated trips across the map alone, it can all start to feel a little empty without that narrative meat. Maybe I just missed hanging out with my friends, but if you’re thinking about trying V Rising in single-player, be warned that it doesn’t feel like the intended experience.
